2023 Nevada Federation of Republican Women Biennial Convention
The 37th Biennial Convention was held October 31, 2023 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and was attended by 108 delegates. Speakers were Nevada Republican Committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid who spoke about the caucus scheduled for February 8, 2024 versus the primary election scheduled for February 6, 2024; Daniel Honchariw representing Nevada Policy who spoke about Question 3 (jungle primaries and rank choice voting) which will be on the ballot for the second time in 2024; and Trent England, Executive Director of Save our States, who addressed the dangers of the national popular vote (circumventing the Electoral College.)
The convention passed bylaws amendments, and resolutions opposing central bank digital currency, supporting a constitutional amendment to keep the United State Supreme Court at nine members; opposing illegals or other non-citizens serving on elected or unelected boards, and opposing organ harvesting without a patient's prior consent.
Additionally, the officers for 2024-2025 were elected. From left to right in the back row are Secretary Linda Powers, Nominating Chair Lori Piotrowski, Southern Director Melissa Blundo and 2nd Vice President Cher Daniels. In the front row are Treasurer Barbara Kirk, Northern Director Kathy Doyle, President Mary Beganyi, immediate past President Caroline Smith and 1st Vice President Jennifer Tuggle.
